To be eligible for the Queensland University Scholarship for International Students, we’ve outlined specific criteria that applicants should meet:
For the Science International Scholarship:
- International Student Status: Applicants must qualify as international students in Australia.
- Application Documentation: Ensure all necessary documentation is submitted to fulfill the conditions of an offer from UQ for an approved program by the scholarship closing date.
- Academic Excellence: Demonstrate a strong academic performance as part of your UQ program application.
- Faculty of Science Program: Enroll in a program administered by the UQ Faculty of Science, with a duration of more than one year (full time).
- First Semester Enrollment: Plan to enroll in your first semester of study at UQ.
- Change of Programs: Please note that if you are already enrolled at UQ and wish to change programs, you are not eligible for these scholarships.
- Program Types: Students enrolling in non-award, Study Abroad, or Exchange programs are ineligible.
- Commitment to Studies: Scholarship recipients should commence their studies in the semester specified in the UQ offer letter, work towards the successful completion of their program, consent to UQ publishing their name, photo, and degree program information, and be willing to provide a testimonial and a suitable photo for publication.
For the UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship:
- Academic Achievement: Applicants should have achieved a minimum ATAR of 99.90 (or an equivalent qualification).
- Year 12 Completion: Completed Year 12 either in 2023 or 2022 (if currently on a gap year).
- Citizenship/Residency Status: Be an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder; or Be an Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand Citizen, or international student who has completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia.
- Tertiary Studies: Not have completed any previous tertiary studies, except as part of Year 11-12 studies (e.g., Enhanced Studies Program).
- Tertiary Place Application: Applied for a tertiary place through QTAC and listed UQ as their first preference in QTAC as of December 18, 2023.
- Full-Time Enrollment: Intend to enroll as a full-time student in a UQ undergraduate program in 2024 (or 2025 if deferring their tertiary place).
